Four Seasons Private Estates Caye Chapel
Located in the heart of Belize’s largest marine sanctuary, this private island invites guests to connect with nature while enjoying the level of personal service and luxurious amenities that Four Seasons offers. Opening in 2021, Caye Chapel will feature approximately 50 Four Seasons Private Estates, with opportunities starting at $2 million.
Erasing the line between indoor and outdoor, these exclusive lots encourage owners to take advantage of the unparalleled access to the natural environment of Belize through boat expeditions, snorkeling, paddle boarding, diving, mainland exploration and more. In addition to the private estates, the 2.5-mile island of Caye Chapel will feature a 100-room Four Seasons Resort, 35 Private Residences, a private airstrip, a Fabien Cousteau Nature and Conservation Institute, an 18-hole Greg Norman golf course, bustling Harbor and Marina village, world-class dining options and a stylish Beach Club.

The Ellysian
The Ellysian is owned by Belize’s Prime Minister’s wife, Kim Barrow, and opened in May of 2017. The boutique property is ideally located within the charming and vibrant village of Placencia, placed perfectly along Belize’s Southern Coast. Upon arrival, guests are immersed into an incomparably lush escape that is in walking distance to local artisan shops, restaurants and sites the village has to offer.

There are 12 beautiful rooms at The Ellysian, consisting of beach view studios and one-bedroom suites. The limited number of suites at The Ellysian ensures guests are afforded privacy and a higher standard of personalized service. Each suite is fitted with a private veranda, viewing either the Caribbean sea or the famous sidewalk center of the village. The boutique hotel values making a difference in the community, and as a result, it supports several charitable organizations such as the Belize Cancer Center and The Placencia Humane Society.

Mahogany Bay Village is a fresh and energized take on the conventional resort community. The Village is made up of Belize’s first global luxury branded resort, a collection of customizable homes, and a bustling retail marketplace. Located on the soulful island of Ambergris Caye, Mahogany Bay Village, which just opened in December, sits no more than 10 minutes from the colorful eateries and shops of the historic San Pedro Town.

Dream Hotel Group
In January, the Dream Hotel Group announced the development of two new hotels in Belize: Unscripted Belize and Dream Belize. The first of the two Belize openings for the group, Unscripted Belize, will debut in late 2018 with 24 beachfront cabana accommodations that will be steps away from the Caribbean Sea. With an open-air concept, the property will also feature an outdoor restaurant and bar, an expansive pool area and two private boats for snorkeling and scuba diving.
In 2020, Dream Belize will feature 100 guestrooms and suites, 120 hotel condominiums and 40 branded residential home sites. Also included will be four vibrant dining and nightlife concepts, three pools, a luxury spa and fitness center and multiple coworking suites to round out the dynamic resort offerings.

Curating week-long luxury sailing trips and organizing custom winery experiences in the Dalmatian Islands, Wind & Wine Croatia — an innovative adventure travel company — is putting a new twist on travel.

Whether it’s taking in the views of the Adriatic Sea, visiting military tunnels on the island of Vis, or touring a state-of-the-art winery in the Dingač appellation, Wind & Wine Croatia is embracing all the islands have to offer.

In the summer of 2017, seasoned wine professional Lizann Grupalo was sailing the pristine waters of Croatia’s Adriatic coast when she met sailor and certified yacht master Ivan “Pale” Paškvan. Little did the two realize that this would be the start of a life changing partnership. Over a glass of Pošip, a Croatian white wine, the two began discussing their two passions — wine and sailing — and ways in which they could share these passions with others.

The two later came up with the innovative idea for Wind & Wine Croatia, which now curates unique trips that allow travelers to sail on modern yachts, visit hand-selected wineries and explore historic islands and towns. We spoke with Grupalo, who shares a behind-the-scenes look into the success of her partnership with Pale and what inspired their collaboration — all while expressing her passion for Croatia and its wine.

What has made Wind & Wine Croatia successful?

At the core, Pale and I are aligned in our vision, values, work ethic and desire to create a business platform with an intent to serve others — our clients as well as the community. We also clearly recognize each other’s talents and skill sets and work to capitalize on those strengths and rely on one another for our respective areas of expertise. There is also a candidness to our dialogue which is so refreshing and honest. Pale has many gifts but I most respect his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for sailing and desire to share it with others.

What is your favorite thing about your partnership with Pale?

One of my favorite things about my partnership with Pale is how naturally and organically it has evolved. Our serendipitous meeting while sailing on a yacht in the Dalmatian Islands was so random and it happened at a time when I least expected it. I just love seeing the natural progression of Wind & Wine Croatia and I attribute this to our strong collaborative work ethic.

What inspired Wind & Wine Croatia?

Full credit must be given to Pale for the idea to create Wind & Wine Croatia. Apparently, he had the idea for quite some time but hadn’t yet connected with someone who had the supplementary skills to partner with. While I don’t really know what inspired Pale to mention the idea of creating a “wind and wine” program to me that day sailing to Vis, I can only guess that he saw a kindred entrepreneurial spirit. … The opportunity presented itself and I just couldn’t resist partnering with Pale on a new venture that included all the things that I love — wine, sailing, travel and Croatia.

Co-Founder of Wind & Wine Croatia Lizann Grupalo

Why should travelers experience Croatia?

Croatia should be on everyone’s list to visit. It really is that spectacular! Wind & Wine Croatia promises an incomparable experience and what we feel is the best way to experience Croatia — from the sea. It provides an incredible perspective and one of the most breathtaking views is approaching each island and city or town from the comfort of your sailing yacht or catamaran.

Combining the best of our talents, Pale and I have crafted these trips as the professionals and experts in our respective fields. Thus, a new experience has been created — tailored to what we do best — sailing the Adriatic Sea and discovering both world-class wines and the hidden-gem locales where these wines are born.

Showcasing fantastic views and deed access to private Grape Bay Beach, Ardsheal Cottage is nestled in a quiet garden setting in Paget, Bermuda.

Only minutes from Hamilton, the immaculate executive home was originally constructed in 1906 and completely renovated in 2013.

“Numerous artisans were engaged during the refurbishment of the home — from the millwork, cabinetry, floor finishes and window treatments, all of which lend to an incredible first impression,” says listing agent Brian Madeiros of Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty.

Upon entering the home, one is greeted by beautiful woodwork, Thibault wallpaper and a custom-designed triple mast schooner crystal chandelier. It also features 6,000 square feet of living space, four bedrooms, four and a half baths and an open-beam covered terrace that transitions from the kitchen to the pool deck with copious seating and a working fireplace.

“This bespoke sophisticated kitchen is perfectly designed for active families,” says Madeiros. “One could comfortably spend hours in this area of the home whilst losing all sense of time.”

Listed for $7.5 million, the home also includes a guest cottage with a full bath and kitchenette above the garage. “Ardsheal Cottage is perfectly suited for an executive and their family,” says Madeiros. “The commute from ones busy city office to the private shared beach to meet your family for an evening picnic is approximately five minutes — Ardsheal Cottage absolutely complements the lifestyle of a busy but adventurous family.”

Awakening the coast of Hawaii’s oldest island, Kaua’i, is the brand-new Timbers Kaua’i — Ocean Club & Residences at Hokuala, a 450-acre slice of paradise offering an 18-hole ocean course, 47 luxury residences and soon-to-be-completed clubhouse, dining and retail spots.

“On one of the most coveted sites in all of Hawaii, Hokuala is a natural oceanfront amphitheater at the entrance to the tranquil waters of Kalapaki Beach along the Pacific,” says Gary Moore, managing director of Timbers Kaua’i.

Due to its proximity to the cliff-sides, Timbers Kaua’i has been deemed the “last-of-its-kind” as construction regulations require new properties be at least 500 feet away from escarpments. “Timbers Kaua’i was grandfathered in due to the timing of its approval process…. Therefore, the residences are the last property to be built on the island with closer than close proximity to the ocean,” says Moore.

The residences at Timbers Kaua’i are offered in fractional and whole ownership opportunities, with prices ranging from $300,000 to $7.5 million. A $9.5 million penthouse also will be listed in the future. Overall completion of the property is aimed for June 2018.

While the property offers wonderful amenities such as oceanfront infinity-edge pools, an “ohana” pool with waterfalls and a grill, personalized services for families through the Keiki Club and island adventure guides, the standout amenity is “the wonder of the views,” says Moore. — Samantha Myers
