May, acclaimed for having created and popularized the quintessential California ranch-style house, designed this historic home for Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Marquette who relocated from Chicago to Montecito. The couple commissioned May to design and the build the home for them 65 years ago for the sum of $125,000. The owner, Natalya Pavchinskya, purchased the property approximately 5 years ago.
In 1952, the residence was built as a 4-bed, 4-bath with a 2-car garage. Today, the natural light filled residence spans 9454 square feet and boasts 7 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms on two separate parcels totaling 4.25 acres.
