Sometimes the most striking features of a house lie within its history and are revealed through the owners who called it home. For this mansion located on 1023 N Roxbury Drive in Beverly Hills, a rich history was one of the key characteristics that kept buyers interested.
“Some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry have taken up residence on this gorgeous property over the years,” says listing agent Myra Nourmand of Nourmand & Associates. Among its previous occupants are Hollywood legends Agnes Moorehead, (“Bewitched”) and Spencer Tracy (“Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner”). “A who’s who show of business legends have walked the halls of this grand estate – it is a veritable Walk of Fame. The people who have lived in the mansion would agree that this is the ultimate California dream.”
Selling for $16 million earlier this year, which was close to the original listing price of $18.5 million, Nourmand first put the property on the market in 2015. The home was then sold off-market, six months after the listing had expired, to an entrepreneur, according to the agent.
Certainly, though, the most intriguing aspects of the house lie in its design and architecture. The Mediterranean-style mansion is fronted by a circular driveway, manicured lawn and rows of lush palm trees. Inside is a gated, eight-bedroom, seven-bath, villa-like home that boasts a grand two-story entry, step-down living room with vaulted ceilings, and formal dining room with hand-painted murals on the coffered ceiling. The master suite also has painted murals on the ceiling, dual baths and dual closets.
Other features include a media and billiards room with a full wet bar downstairs, which raises the potential for “an awesome man cave,” Nourmand notes. The guest cabana suite by the pool has a sitting room and large full bath. The courtyard is perfect for entertaining and offers a pool with a spa, as well as a lighted tennis court.
Along with its famous ownership history, the location of the property adds to the overall character of the home, making it a “star” on its own. “North Roxbury Drive is an iconic street that many of Hollywood’s legendary stars have called home, and is still one of the most desirable streets in Beverly Hills,” Nourmand affirms.
A contemporary, architectural masterpiece located in the heart of Northern California’s beautiful coastal city of Mendocino will sell at auction next month through Concierge Auctions, the global leader of luxury real estate auctions.
Named “The Most Beautiful Community in the US” by the Los Angeles Times, Mendocino has it all—a thriving community and natural beauty. The unique area features mature redwood trees, pristine beaches and the only oceanfront botanical gardens in the United States. Additionally, the residents of Mendocino are near Anderson Valley’s incredible wineries, local art galleries and boutiques and dining.
Anchored in non-erodible bedrock only 35 feet from the cliffs, 45431 Greenling Circle – aptly named “Sunset Cove” after the home’s nightly views of the sun glowing behind the cliffs – is steeped in luxury. Set discreetly on an end-of-road cul-de-sac near a 300-acre nature preserve, the estate offers unparalleled privacy and is meticulously built with the finest craftsmanship and materials, boasting 12-foot ceilings, redwood beams, vignette windows framing the landscape, sustainably-harvested African Mirabau hardwood and travertine flooring and three fireplaces.
Comprised of 6,385 square feet, the coastal estate comes equipped with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, an award-winning chef’s kitchen, his and hers offices, a media room, wine cellar and separate guest wing. The home also offers seamless indoor/outdoor living, featuring numerous decks made of indestructible ironwood, floor-to-ceiling windows with direct ocean views, park-like gardens and impressive skylights.
“Mendocino is one of the most beautiful communities in the country, set on the rugged cliffs on California’s North Coast. The property itself is located just 35 feet from the ocean on a private bluff, with views that will take your breath away,” stated the seller Sharon Kiss. “I chose to work with Concierge Auctions because of their ability to reach a global audience. I’m excited for the upcoming auction and believe it presents an incredibly opportunity for buyers to win not only the house, but also a unique, tranquil lifestyle in a historic seaside village.”
Previously listed at $3.9 million, Sunset Cove will sell without reserve on May 18th in cooperation with Sarah Schoeneman of Mendo Realty. The auction will be conducted via the Concierge Auctions’ custom mobile bidding app allowing prospective buyers to bid from anywhere in the world.
