Instrata Lifestyle Residences today announced that it is bringing the KonMari Method™ to residents of its five NYC properties through a partnership with the first certified KonMari Consultants who are employed by KonMari for this project. The KonMari Method, an approach to decluttering based on Japanese values, was developed by Marie “KonMari” Kondo, “the most organized woman in the world.” An acclaimed organizing consultant and lifestyle expert, Kondo is the author of the international best-sellers The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and Spark Joy. The philosophy is designed to support people in living their ideal lives, through organizing. If belongings no longer spark joy, they are acknowledged for their service and thanked before being discarded.

Through this first-of-its-kind partnership, residents of Instrata’s lifestyle rental properties in Hell’s Kitchen, NoMad, Gramercy, Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights will have special access to employed KonMari Consultants for tidying consulting services. They have undergone rigorous training in the KonMari Method, including 50 hours of practice sessions. They will conduct one or more five-hour private organizing sessions for individual Instrata residents, helping the residents identify what they value in life. While doing so, they will coach and support the residents to completely organize the home, creating the residents’ ideal space.
“We all want to know the best way to utilize our space so our homes can be a place to recharge and re-center, surrounded by our favorite things,” observed Lesley Lisser of Instrata Lifestyle Residences. “Ms. Kondo’s philosophy resonates with Instrata’s mission to create community and happy homes for its residents, making their lives richer and easier whenever possible. We are privileged to be able to bring the first certified KonMari Consultants to the residents of our buildings in New York.”

“The KonMari Method has helped countless practitioners around the world to reexamine, refocus, and restructure their lives through the mental and emotional journey of tidying,” commented Kazuma Yamauchi, chief operating officer of KonMari Media Inc. “We believe strongly in the intrinsic value of this process, particularly for those of us leading fast-paced lives in urban centers such as New York City, where the demands of day-to-day life leave us little time to examine some of the most central aspects of our day: our possessions. For this reason, it is our great pleasure to share the KonMari Method with the residents of Instrata’s various New York City properties. Our mission at KMI is to contribute to the happiness and wellbeing of people around the world through the process of tidying.”
Instrata Residents may arrange sessions with a KonMari Consultant via the Instrata Concierge. More information about Marie Kondo, the KonMari Method and KonMari Consultants is available online at www.konmari.com.
