Luxury properties partner with world-renowned chefs and restaurants

High-end restaurants collaborate with residential buildings in major cities such as New York and Boston to create the ultimate experience for residents.

Waterline Square and Cipriani
Waterline Square has been designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects, Richard Meier & Partners Architects and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates to create an iconic collection of luxury residential buildings on one of the last remaining waterfront development sites on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The masterplan encompasses nearly five acres and will be located in Manhattan along the Hudson River from West 59th Street to West 61st Street where Midtown meets the Upper West Side.
Located within Two Waterline Square, designed by KPF, the groundbreaking development will be home to the first-ever experiential food market by the Cipriani family.
The Cipriani family will develop 28,000 square feet of space for a large-format culinary experience with multiple food and beverage establishments, including a market, restaurants and fast casual outlets. Martin Brudnizki, the internationally-acclaimed, London-based interior designer, will design the new Cipriani food hall.

Cayman Islands show record real estate sales for 2017

Real estate experts attribute Cayman Islands’ growth in tourism to an active hurricane season in North America.

Experts in the Cayman Islands real estate industry noticed an increase in flights from key North American destinations in 2017. The tri-island Caribbean nation also recorded its best stay-over visitation figures and hit a real estate sales record of $696 million, increasing by a record-breaking 9 percent in 2017 versus the prior year, according to the most recent property report by Cayman Islands-based independent property consultants, Charterland. Experts say they believe that the increased amount of tourism is driving real estate sales.
Cayman Islands Realtors have also noticed that the increase in air travel and tourism can be partially attributed to an active 2017 hurricane season in North America that left Grand Cayman untouched.

“Last year’s storms brought an influx of people who were previously unfamiliar with Grand Cayman, but this has led to more sales as they have fallen in love with the island and are keen to make here their second home,” said Ruth Gustafsson, an associate broker for Provenance Properties Cayman Islands, the Cayman Islands Christie’s International Real Estate affiliate and the sole real estate brokerage for Dart Real Estate.
The increase in visitation to the Cayman Islands can also be attributed to the Kimpton hotel’s clientele, who are attracted to the island by their loyalty to the brand. The Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa and the adjacent condos for sale at The Residences at Seafire are popular among tourists who wish to settle down in the Cayman Islands.

The Residences at Seafire is a waterfront 10-story architectural gem. Developed by Dart Real Estate, it houses a collection of 62 distinct residences which marry contemporary Caribbean style with high design. The Residences are exclusively represented by Provenance Properties Cayman Islands, and are offering one- to five-bedroom condos starting at $1.5 million.
The Residences are also located along Seven Mile Beach, a popular tourist destination in Grand Cayman. Seven Mile Beach is the area of choice for real estate sales due to the number of Grand Cayman luxury properties for sale, according to the Charterland report. Data showed 130 beachfront condominiums sold on Seven Mile Beach last year, a 20-percent jump from 2016 purchases.

Online furniture collection welcomes its first British designer

The invisible collection began with two friends who saw a need for a website that offered some of the most exclusive items from the best names in French design in one marketplace.

The Invisible Collection has added its first British interior designer, Sophie Ashby, to its list of revered international designers and architects who contribute to its selection of furniture and household accessories.

The Invisible Collection is a website that provides people a way to online shop the private collections of Europe’s interior designers and architects. The website began with two friends, Anna Zaoui and Isabelle Dubern, who saw there was a need for a website that offered some of the most exclusive items from the best names in French design in one marketplace. From there, Zaoui and Dubern expanded to include designers from other European countries to make their company international.

A few noteworthy designers who contribute to the Invisible Collection are India Mahdavi, a French architect, industrial designer, graphic designer and furniture designer, Hubert Le Gall, a French designer, sculptor, scenographer and painter, and Federica Tondato, an Italian architect and interior designer. The addition of Ashby, the creative director of Studio Ashby, to the list of designers has widened the scope of the Invisible Collection to include pieces by British designers.

Studio Ashby’s first furniture collection in collaboration with the Invisible Collection consists of 17 pieces. The collection was designed for private residential projects in the United Kingdom, including a riverside penthouse on the Southbank, a holiday home on the coast in the new forest and a family home in Holland Park.
The collection draws inspiration from art, nature and the places Ashby has traveled to and experienced. From the works of Yves Klein to Jean Arp, and the Japanese Kyoto gardens of Holland Park to the colors of the Karoo, Ashby’s nomadic upbringing and love for travel, combined with her artistic sensibility, grant a unique personality to her designs.

Ashby’s different experiences have each fed her understanding of design, its power and its possibility — from the vast nature of the south African landscape to the small rooms of a Victorian house in the city, and the urban intensity of New York to the rural charm of the English countryside.

Restaurant Provides Charitable Experiential Dinner

A percentage of revenue from The Chef’s Table at BLACKBARN restaurant will go toward the Heavenly Harvest Foundation, a charity that creates nutritious and quality meals for those in need.

The Chef’s Table, open to the general public on Saturday nights, provides the opportunity to watch the restaurant’s renowned chef-owner John Doherty and his team in action and taste five distinct courses made from the season’s freshest ingredients. With a specially crafted menu that changes monthly, the $150 meal includes a selection of five wine pairings to present an affordable journey into New York City’s dining scene.
“We are thrilled to turn an evening out into an opportunity to give back for our guests, as proceeds from each dinner can provide a child in need with nutritious meals for an entire week,” says Chef John Doherty. “Like every detail of the BLACKBARN experience, from the decor to the tableware, the fully curated dinner leaves an impression of comfort and luxury while now sharing our passion for philanthropy.”
A personal dining experience that invites guests to have a front-row view of the action at long tables overseeing the exposed kitchen, The Chef’s Table offers a performance that is as elegantly simple as the dishes Chef Doherty creates. The April menu featured flavorful and unique combinations like a rich and round foie gras terrine cut with a tangy rhubarb and ginger conserve, and seasonal stars like ramps, white asparagus, fennel, and figs.
